это / эти

I was wondering, why isn't Это in plural in this sentence? The noun and the adjective are in plural so I would automatically like to use Эти in the sentence Это общие принципы.

    Thank you!

    Привет @Kärt !

Это means "this" or "these" as in:
Это новый дом. - This is a new house.
Это is indeclinable. It usually translates into "This is ...", "These are ...".

Этот/ эта / это/ эти means "this" or "these" and is used as a noun modifier:
Этот дом новый. - This house is new.

    I hope it helped!
